E-DECOM PROJECT
The E-DECOM Project, leaded by the Foundry Association of the Basque Country and Navarre, is funded by the European Commission under the Transfer of Innovation of the Leonardo da Vinci Programme for Vocational Training, and counts on the participation of seven organizations (Federación Vizcaína de Empresas del Metal, Instituto Vasco de Cualificaciones y Formación Profesional, IDEC SA, Federation of Industrial Trade Unions, Cluj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Economics and Management Faculty of Kaunas University of Technology and Asociación de Fundidores del País Vasco y Navarra) representing four countries: Greece, Lithuania, Romania and Spain.
The objective is to develop a Learning Environment by promoting pedagogic innovation in training in the companies of the foundry sector, by transferring and adapting the DIPROCU methodology in order to diagnose the training needs in companies.
To achieve this goal, a Learning System based on the NTIC will be create and implemented in order to develop the workers' key skills and competences in the foundry sector.
This Project will positively influence the SMEs of the foundry sector, their workers as well as new incorporations to the sector, the Qualifications Systems and the organizations involved in Lifelong Learning, establishing and strengthening the link and rapprochement of the education-training system to the production system.
The Project officially started in October 2008 and has a planned length of 24 months, till September 2010.
